I used a Bundt pan instead of a normal bread mold. The decorative edges and the top came out very attractive and more apetizing, Although, I wasnt sure if it will work well for banana bread ,but I was very happy with the result.
Ingredients
1 3/4cups flourAll-purpose
1 1/4teaspoons Baking powder
1/2 teaspoonsalt
2/3 Cup sugar
1/3Cup shortening
2largeeggs
2tablespoonsmilk
4medium bananasripe
1/2cup walnutschopped
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350° F.
In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl cream sugar and shortening with an electric beater, or by hand held beater, until smooth.
Add 1 egg at a time and beat until smooth. Add milk and mix well.
Add half of the flour and half of the mashed bananas and continue to mix well before adding rest of the flour and banana. Continue to mix.
When all the ingredients are well combined, add finely chopped walnuts and fold the batter to spread the nuts evenly throughout the mixture.
Grease, and flour a tube pan and pour the batter in it and smooth it out by tapping the pan gently on the counter.
Bake in a preheated oven for 55 minutes or until an inserted knife comes out clean.
